Topic & procedure
The twillo-Thursday is our online consultation hour about Open Educational Resources (#OERde). Every Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. you can clarify your questions in a personal conversation with our lawyer and the support team - directly and without registration. With the twillo-Thursday Spotlight, the existing offer is supplemented by a short legal input. Every 1st Thursday of the month, there is a 15-minute short presentation on current legal issues that have been selected in advance by the community.
Topic this time: "The small print - understanding CC licenses".
Our lawyer explains why it is important not only to read the summary ("Deed") of the Creative Commons licenses, but also to know the full license text, the so-called Legal Code. Because: CC licenses are legally binding contracts - anyone who violates the license terms risks legal consequences. In the Spotlight, you will learn how to read the license text and better understand the meaning of individual clauses.
