twillo honored as a Digital Place Lower Saxony

With the Dig­i­taler Ort Nieder­sach­sen award, the Dig­i­ta­la­gen­tur Nieder­sach­sen hon­ors ini­tia­tives, projects and insti­tu­tions that are actively shap­ing the dig­i­tal trans­for­ma­tion in Lower Sax­ony — twillo is one of them.

Where is the dig­i­tal trans­for­ma­tion tak­ing place in Lower Sax­ony and who is con­tribut­ing to it? In order to make this vis­i­ble, the Dig­i­tal Agency of Lower Sax­ony awards the Dig­i­taler Ort Nieder­sach­sen (Dig­i­tal Place Lower Sax­ony) award to play­ers who have made a spe­cial con­tri­bu­tion in the con­text of dig­i­tal­iza­tion. twillo was also rec­og­nized as a Dig­i­tal Place where dig­i­tal inno­va­tion is devel­oped and imple­mented in Lower Sax­ony.

As part of Inno­va­tion­szen­trum Nieder­sach­sen GmbH, Dig­i­ta­la­gen­tur Nieder­sach­sen pur­sues the goal of sup­port­ing Lower Sax­ony’s econ­omy in the devel­op­ment of inno­va­tions. As an inde­pen­dent strat­egy and tech­nol­ogy con­sul­tancy for the state gov­ern­ment of Lower Sax­ony, the Dig­i­ta­la­gen­tur Nieder­sach­sen pro­vides impe­tus to sci­ence, busi­ness and pol­i­tics for the devel­op­ment and dis­sem­i­na­tion of future-ori­ented key tech­nolo­gies in Lower Sax­ony.

The Lower Sax­ony Dig­i­tal Agency offers var­i­ous top­ics and ser­vices, such as the Dig­i­tal Voraus sem­i­nar series, the IT secu­rity por­tal and the Dig­i­tal Places.

In the appli­ca­tion process, twillo was able to con­vince the jury: in addi­tion to the pro­vi­sion of infra­struc­ture in the form of the OER por­tal, the func­tion as an OER com­pe­tence cen­ter was a deci­sive cri­te­rion. The sup­port of teach­ers in deal­ing with open edu­ca­tional mate­ri­als, the pro­mo­tion of cross-insti­tu­tional net­work­ing as well as the numer­ous con­sult­ing, exchange and fur­ther train­ing offers on legal didac­tic and tech­ni­cal issues dis­tin­guish twillo as a dig­i­tal place in Lower Sax­ony. By focus­ing on both con­tent-related aspects and tech­ni­cal pos­si­bil­i­ties, twillo makes a spe­cial con­tri­bu­tion to the devel­op­ment of com­pre­hen­sive dig­i­tal skills among uni­ver­sity lec­tur­ers.

The Dig­i­tal Places in Lower Sax­ony are diverse: schools, uni­ver­si­ties, research insti­tu­tions, start-ups, com­pa­nies, char­i­ta­ble orga­ni­za­tions and other insti­tu­tions can apply. In the areas of edu­ca­tion, busi­ness, sci­ence and oth­ers, there are dig­i­tal places as diverse as the Gym­na­sium in der Wüste, the Care4Life Inno­va­tion Lab GmbH, the Laser Zen­trum Han­nover and the Ost­friesis­ches Teemu­seum Nor­den. These can be found together with 121 oth­ers on the dig­i­tal con­sult­ing map of the Dig­i­ta­la­gen­tur Nieder­sach­sen. The map also lists advi­sory ser­vices and con­tacts in var­i­ous areas of dig­i­tal­iza­tion.
