Topic & procedure

twillo is a guest at the Hochscule Merseburg on November 20th, 2025 to conduct an online workshop on the basics and practical use of open educational resources in teaching and to introduce the OER-portal twillo. This workshop is part of Hochschule Merseburg’s event series “Lehre und Lernen im Blick” from November 17th to the 28th, 2025. This event series is to give impulses to quality in study and teaching. twillo gladly supports this undertaking. More and more academic institutions aim to foster openness and seek to set a positive example for their educators and other stafthat they promote and endorese the creation and sharing of Open Educational Resoures (OER) actively through provideing clear guidelines. But what content should such an OER-policy have? What legal aspects are crucial to consider? And which stakeholders should be involved, so that a policy’s implementation is widely supported and not condemned to reamin a mere declaration of intent? Utilizing existing templates provided by twillo — such as our policy draft and our policy kit — we’ll introduce the crucial steps of developing an OER-policy for your institution. twillo gladly supports this undertaking with two subsequent workshops.

Open Educational Resources (OER) are study and teaching materials, that can be collaboratively created with other educators, shared and modified, for free and legally secure. In this workshop, we want to develop the most important basics: the usage of open licenses, the incorporation of AI-generated content, and tips and tricks for the practical implementation in your teaching context. Furthermore, we will introduce the OER-Portal twillo, which allows searching for, finding, downloading, and publishing of OER. We encourage participants of this workshop to bring their own teaching materials to hands-on try out, how to publish these materials as OER on twillo.
