Target group
The target group of the OERcamp includes teachers, learners and multipliers from all areas of education who are interested in open and innovative teaching/learning formats.
Topic & procedure
The biggest #OERcamp of the year is happening September 4th--6th, 2025 in Hanover and offers three days packed with everything Open Educational Resources (OER), up to date education, and digital teaching materials. twillo supports the event as one of its cooperation partners and also gives numerous workshops.
Come and participate in twillo's workshops, in which we present our latest research on AI and OER, examine AI and OER in practice, foster the handling of metadata and OER, convey the basics of OER and our OER-portal twillo, or discuss the future of interfederal OER-infrastructure. What is the OERcamp?
Since 2012, the OERcamp has been the central meeting place for the German-speaking community around Open Educational Resources (OER) and contemporary education. It brings together stakeholders from all areas of education and promotes openness, participation and collaboration. With formats such as barcamps, workshops and other offerings, OERcamp provides a platform for learning, sharing and discussing together.
Highlights
- Three-day program: practical workshops, a barcamp and a community meeting with diverse content for all areas of education.
- Two locations: Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts and Multi Media BBS at Expo Plaza Hanover - right next to each other.
- Diverse formats: Saturday is dedicated to the day of practical workshops, supplemented by community meetings and a large barcamp takes place on Fridays.
The Barcamp is designed by the participants and the entire program enables exchange and networking in an open educational community.

AI and OER in use: Enhancing OER with AI in a versatile and legally compliant way

In this interactive PreCamp-workshop we introduce tested exemplary cases, creative prompts, and legal knowhow. Together with participants we discuss scenarios of application, reflect didactic possibilities, and elucidate the legal framework. The participant are also encouraged to put the use of AI and OER in conformity with the law to the test.

Metadata play a crucial role in the findability of Open Educational Resources; irrespective of your level of expertise when it comes to OER. We want to show that describing one's own works with metadata need not be a pesky nuisance in the process of publication, but can be also be fun.

OER in teaching design: basics and practical applications

In this entry-level workshop, which is also open to the advanced, we reflect the basics of the usage and creation of OER. The focus of this workshop is the hands-on production of Open Educational Resources and Practices. Using real world exemplary cases we discuss the opportunities and hindrances that come with Open Education and demonstrate how OER can be utilized in teaching in a meaningful way. We also introduce our OER-portal twillo to show how OER can be published, found and reused.
