Practical workshop on OER legal issues
Event content
Focal points
Copyright and open licenses
Target group
Teachers and learners at educational institutions with/without prior knowledge
Topic & procedure
If you want to publish your own works as open educational resources, this does not mean that you have to refrain from including third-party content. But what needs to be considered from a legal perspective? What rules apply to the integration of third-party OER or their mixing with your own content? How does the integration influence your own choice of license? And what about materials that are not openly licensed?
In this free legal workshop, you will learn how the legally compliant creation and use of OER works in practice. Particular attention will be paid to the question of how third-party materials can be used in your own OER in accordance with copyright law. To this end, typical application scenarios for integrating third-party content (e.g. videos, images, graphics, texts, AI-generated content) into your own works will be run through.
