Topic & procedure

Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching and learning materials that are available under an open license and can therefore be used, modified and redistributed free of charge. In the context of higher education and adult education, OER open up the possibility of adapting educational offerings flexibly and in line with the needs of a heterogeneous learning group. The openness and potential for collaborative further development of OER also promote a participatory learning culture in which learners not only passively absorb content, but also act as active co-creators of their own learning process.

The workshop will begin by providing key legal and practical principles for the use and creation of open educational resources. The focus will be on the practice-oriented development of open teaching and learning scenarios based on real challenges from the field of higher education and adult education. The potentials and challenges of using OER are critically reflected upon in a joint discourse and possibilities for the meaningful integration of open materials in the planning, implementation and follow-up phases of educational programs are developed. In addition, the functions and possible applications of the www.twillo.de portal will be presented.
