Target group

The OER Festival is aimed at people from all areas of education who are interested in and committed to open educational materials. No prior knowledge is required.

Topic & procedure

In Novem­ber, an OER fes­ti­val will take place for the first time since 2017, com­bin­ing an OER­camp, the ORCA.nrw con­fer­ence and the 10th anniver­sary of the Bünd­nis Freie Bil­dung. The OER Fes­ti­val will be held over three days as an in-per­son event in Essen and offers space for the Ger­man-speak­ing OER com­mu­nity to meet. Work­shops, lec­tures and var­i­ous bar­camp ses­sions will be ded­i­cated to dig­i­tal, open and con­tem­po­rary edu­ca­tion. The 3rd OER World Con­gress will take place in Dubai at the same time as the OER Fes­ti­val, and there will be a live dis­cus­sion with the OER­camp cor­re­spon­dent in Dubai.

The OER Fes­ti­val will take place from Mon­day to Wednes­day 18–20.11.2024 in Essen.
