Network meeting on AI in open teaching
Event content
Target group
The AI network meeting is aimed primarily at university lecturers from Lower Saxony who have already gained some initial experience with AI—regardless of how professional or basic their use of it has been so far. People from university teaching departments who would like to explore the topic further for teaching purposes are also welcome to attend.
Topic & procedure
Quality control of OER through AI? From testing to prompt catalog
To what extent can AI promote the quality of (open) educational materials? Which requirements and criteria for materials can be cross-checked with AI—and does this apply equally to different formats?
We have developed seven quality criteria that can be used to evaluate open educational resources (OER) – although there is no universal definition of quality for educational materials. After a brief introduction to the quality criteria, participants work in small groups to develop suitable prompts or test prepared formulations that can be used to instruct common AI chatbots to evaluate educational materials. The focus is on determining which prompt formulations are suitable for obtaining a comprehensible and reliable assessment of the quality of the material.
Different AI chatbots are used to compare their suitability for AI-supported quality checks. The experiences from the groups are then compiled and discussed so that a catalog of proven prompts can be created.
