This year’s eSAlSA annual con­fer­ence will take place at Anhalt Uni­ver­sity of Applied Sci­ences on the Köthen cam­pus. eSALSA is a joint project of eight uni­ver­si­ties in Sax­ony-Anhalt. The con­fer­ence focuses on “Appli­ca­tions and chal­lenges of dig­i­tal teach­ing in prac­tice” and accord­ingly, lec­tures and prac­ti­cal work­shops will be offered on the top­ics of OER, AI and elec­tronic exam­i­na­tions as well as didac­tic meth­ods. twillo will be hold­ing both a keynote speech and a face-to-face work­shop.

The keynote addresses the topic of Open Edu­ca­tional Resources (OER) in the con­text of higher edu­ca­tion in Ger­many. Using the exam­ple of the twillo.de ini­tia­tive as a cen­tral point of con­tact and com­pe­tence cen­ter, transna­tional activ­i­ties such as twillo­Hub and the inter­na­tional search index OERSI will be pre­sented. In addi­tion to an overview of the cur­rent sta­tus, insights into prac­tice will be shared and cur­rent devel­op­ments and coop­er­a­tion net­works will be pre­sented (focus on Ger­many / DACH region).

The face-to-face work­shop is aimed at par­tic­i­pants with lit­tle or no prior knowl­edge of open edu­ca­tional resources (OER) and the twillo.de por­tal. The event pro­vides a basic under­stand­ing of the impor­tance of open edu­ca­tional mate­ri­als using best-prac­tice exam­ples and offers insights into dif­fer­ent CC licenses. In addi­tion, an overview of twillo’s func­tions will be given and it will be explained how search strate­gies can be used effec­tively. The aim of the work­shop is to pro­mote a solid knowl­edge of free edu­ca­tional mate­ri­als and their use.
