The EU AI Reg­u­la­tion, which has been in force since the begin­ning of 2025, obliges uni­ver­si­ties to specif­i­cally pro­mote and fur­ther develop the AI skills of teach­ers. What does this mean for teach­ing — espe­cially with regard to didac­tic issues and open edu­ca­tional resources (OER)?

Arti­fi­cial intel­li­gence can help to improve the qual­ity of teach­ing and OER. In order to explore this poten­tial together, make expe­ri­ences vis­i­ble and learn from each other, we invite you to the kick-off meet­ing of the net­work “AI in teach­ing — with a per­spec­tive on OER & open­ness”.

The focus of the event:

• Exchange among prac­ti­tion­ers: Clar­ify ques­tions, share solu­tions
• Prac­ti­cal exam­ples with OER ref­er­ence: effi­cient prompt­ing, clear and reusable
• Uni­ver­sity didac­tics focus: AI as sup­port for good teach­ing

As an intro­duc­tion, Yulia Loose (fully qual­i­fied lawyer at twillo) will give an overview of the new AI reg­u­la­tion and its impact on uni­ver­si­ties, insti­tu­tions and indi­vid­ual lec­tur­ers.

Tar­get group
The net­work is aimed at uni­ver­sity lec­tur­ers, pri­mar­ily from Lower Sax­ony, who have already gained ini­tial expe­ri­ence with AI — regard­less of how pro­fes­sional or basic their use has been to date. Peo­ple from higher edu­ca­tion didac­tics who would like to develop the topic fur­ther for teach­ing are also cor­dially invited.
