Make sure that the material can be published as OER
If you would like to make your own material available on twillo, first check whether it meets all the legal requirements for publication as OER. You can find help with this in our Quick Start Guide Preparing material as OER.
If you would like to provide OER from other authors, please first make sure that the material is clearly marked with an open license.

Describe your material
After uploading, the metadata dialog opens. To make it as easy as possible for other teachers and search engines to find and evaluate your material, please describe it in as much detail as possible.
Choose at least one meaningful title for your material, add information about the authors and grant a licenseAdditional information. Then save your entries by clicking the Save button. You can add to or edit your entries at any time. Further information on metadata can be found in our FAQs.
In addition to the formal information, the so-called didactic metadata is extremely helpful for the subsequent use of OER. You can enter information in twillo:
- for classification (type, subject area, keywords)
- Didactics (format, level)
- technical information (requirements, tools)

Structure your material
You have two options for structuring your materials in twillo:
- Create a series for materials that belong together inseparably, e.g. a sample solution to your worksheet, but also any other form of associated text, graphics, audio or video material. You can also publish the same material in different formats, e.g. PDF, docx. and .odt as a series, so that it can be reused more easily. You can find out more about creating series here.
- A collection is a compilation of educational materials according to specific criteria, e.g. subject-specific educational materials, materials for a specific course, self-study materials for students. These can be your own materials or those of others. You can find out more about creating collections here.

Publish your material
Newly created educational materials are initially only visible to you in your workspace. You only publish your material on twillo when you actively release it using the three dots in the context menu.
In addition to public sharing, you also have the option of sharing your material with certain portal users and inviting them to collaborate on the material. You can find instructions on how to do this in our FAQ section.
