Can I publish courses from a learning management system on twillo?

You can make course files from learning management systems (LMS) such as Moodle, Stud.Ip Courseware or Ilias available on twillo. Please note, however, that the portal cannot generate a preview of these courses that would allow third parties to view your LMS content.

In order to create the greatest possible transparency about what is hidden in your course file, we recommend that you make your course public in your university's learning management system and link it as a series element of your course file. If this is not possible, please create alternative ways of viewing your course, for example by adding a photo protocol or a screencast showing the content and structure of the course.

To further simplify reuse, please describe your course file in detail with metadata and be sure to specify which LMS, which LMS version and which plug-ins you used when creating the course.

Important: LMS offer great advantages for university teaching due to their intuitive and uncomplicated operation and the possibility of participant management. With regard to Open Educational Resources, however, the closed nature of LMS poses a challenge. The public sharing of the entire course and the creation of opportunities for subsequent use of the structures and content is made more difficult.

Compatibility problems often occur, for example, if subsequent users use an older LMS version than the one used to create the course. Or if certain plug-ins are not installed in the LMS environment they are working with, but were used when the course was created.

Another problem is that access to LMS courses for lecturers usually expires when their employment at the university ends.

In view of these challenges, we recommend that you give priority to open systems such as LiaScript or GitHub when creating courses that you want to make available as OER.
