What are series and how do I use them?
With the series function, you can add any number of additional materials (so-called series elements) to a main material. As content provided as a series is always displayed together in the portal, it is particularly suitable for bundling materials that directly belong together - e.g. for a mock exam and its sample solution, a learning video and the corresponding script, an online course and didactic information on its use or content in different file formats.
One advantage of series is that you only have to enter most of the metadata for the description of your material for the main element. The information is automatically transferred to the series elements. Only the title, authors and licenses of the series elements need to be entered separately.
Create a series
First upload the main material to twillo or link it (see FAQ How do I upload materials to twillo?). Then click on the three dots on the tile of the material in your workspace and open the metadata dialog via the Edit info option in the following menu.
In the metadata input screen, scroll to the option Add more materials and click on the +Add button.
You can drag and drop a series element into the storage field or select it using the Browse button. If your material has a link, you can enter this via the URL input.
After uploading or linking, the series element is displayed in the metadata dialog.
If you click on the small copyright symbol next to the series element, a dialog opens in which you can enter the license and an author of the series element.
If you select the pen, you can enter the title, the material type and also an author in the following window.
The series element is removed via the small trash can symbol. Please note that this action cannot be undone.
Click the Save button to add the series element to the main material.
If you would like to specify more than one author, please open the material view (double-click on the material tile in the workspace) and select the tab of the series element.
Now open the context menu using the three dots at the top right and select the Edit info option.
In the following window, switch to the Authors and contributors tab in the Author details area and click on the Additional contributors button.
In the next window, you can add further authors in the Participants section of the object using the +Add button.
Please do not forget to save your entries before leaving the window.
