{"id":7503,"date":"2022-09-28T17:40:00","date_gmt":"2022-09-28T15:40:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.twillo.de\/blog\/strengthening-open-educational-practice-at-universities-two-twillo-studies\/"},"modified":"2025-06-05T16:15:48","modified_gmt":"2025-06-05T14:15:48","slug":"strengthening-open-educational-practice-at-universities-two-twillo-studies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.twillo.de\/en\/blog\/strengthening-open-educational-practice-at-universities-two-twillo-studies\/","title":{"rendered":"Strengthening Open Educational Practice at universities: Two twillo studies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"teaser-text\">In two sur\u00adveys, the twillo project net\u00adwork is cur\u00adrently inves\u00adti\u00adgat\u00ading the extent to which the use of free teach\u00ading and learn\u00ading mate\u00adri\u00adals is already wide\u00adspread at uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adties in Lower Sax\u00adony and how the accep\u00adtance of OER can be pro\u00admoted at uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adties.<\/p>\n\n<p>In the period from May to June 2022, HIS-HE con\u00adducted an online sur\u00advey in the twillo project net\u00adwork among cen\u00adtral insti\u00adtu\u00adtions of the uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adties in Lower Sax\u00adony \u2014 includ\u00ading man\u00adage\u00adment and staff of the com\u00adpe\u00adtence cen\u00adters for uni\u00adver\u00adsity didac\u00adtics, ser\u00advice cen\u00adters for teach\u00ading and sup\u00adport facil\u00adi\u00adties for dig\u00adi\u00adtal teach\u00ading at the uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adties. The aim of the sur\u00advey, in which cen\u00adtral insti\u00adtu\u00adtions from 13 of the 23 state-funded uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adties in Lower Sax\u00adony took part, was to iden\u00adtify mea\u00adsures for the use of OER as well as fac\u00adtors and incen\u00adtives for greater pro\u00advi\u00adsion and adap\u00adta\u00adtion of OER at uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adties, in addi\u00adtion to a sta\u00adtus quo sur\u00advey on the impor\u00adtance of OER. The sur\u00advey results of the unpub\u00adlished study indi\u00adcate that free teach\u00ading and learn\u00ading mate\u00adri\u00adals have so far only been a very lim\u00adited focus of the advi\u00adsory activ\u00adi\u00adties of cen\u00adtral insti\u00adtu\u00adtions at uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adties in Lower Sax\u00adony.  <\/p>\n\n<p>On behalf of the twillo project net\u00adwork, Dr. Tina Lad\u00adwig also con\u00adducted a sur\u00advey to pro\u00admote the accep\u00adtance of OER at uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adties in Lower Sax\u00adony, which included not only the tar\u00adget group of advi\u00adsors and uni\u00adver\u00adsity didac\u00adtics experts, but also the tar\u00adget groups of lec\u00adtur\u00aders, course direc\u00adtors, dean\u2019s office direc\u00adtors and fac\u00adulty direc\u00adtors. As part of this fur\u00adther study, Dr. Lad\u00adwig con\u00adducted a total of 15 qual\u00adi\u00adta\u00adtive expert inter\u00adviews at uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adties in Lower Sax\u00adony between March and April 2022. The eval\u00adu\u00ada\u00adtion of the inter\u00adviews indi\u00adcates that OER has so far \u201chardly played a role in every\u00adday uni\u00adver\u00adsity life. Despite numer\u00adous efforts to pro\u00admote OER, espe\u00adcially in a state-spe\u00adcific con\u00adtext, expec\u00adta\u00adtions regard\u00ading the use of OER have unfor\u00adtu\u00adnately not yet been ful\u00adfilled.\u201d The study showed that deficits are already appar\u00adent in the infor\u00adma\u00adtion and per\u00adsua\u00adsion phase, which in many cases have a neg\u00ada\u00adtive impact on the like\u00adli\u00adhood of OER being adopted in uni\u00adver\u00adsity prac\u00adtice.
