Open call for appli\u00adca\u00adtions: With the sup\u00adport of the MWK Lower Sax\u00adony, the Tech\u00adnis\u00adche Infor\u00adma\u00adtions\u00adbib\u00adlio\u00adthek Han\u00adnover (TIB) is award\u00ading fund\u00ading for stu\u00addent assis\u00adtants for the year 2025. They are to develop dig\u00adi\u00adtal teach\u00ading and learn\u00ading mate\u00adri\u00adals for STEM sub\u00adjects and pre\u00adpare them as OER.  <\/p>\n\n

Auxiliary resources for OER production in the STEM subjects<\/h2>\n\n

Open Edu\u00adca\u00adtional Resources (OER) are openly licensed teach\u00ading and learn\u00ading mate\u00adri\u00adals that can be used, redis\u00adtrib\u00aduted and edited by third par\u00adties. Thanks to their flex\u00adi\u00adbil\u00adity, OER enable inte\u00adgra\u00adtion into dif\u00adfer\u00adent teach\u00ading and learn\u00ading con\u00adtexts and tai\u00adlor\u00ading to the spe\u00adcific needs of a learn\u00ading group. The cre\u00adation of OER also offers the oppor\u00adtu\u00adnity to make your own teach\u00ading vis\u00adi\u00adble in the aca\u00add\u00ade\u00admic com\u00admu\u00adnity. <\/p>\n\n

The devel\u00adop\u00adment of OER that are suit\u00adable for use in dig\u00adi\u00adtal teaching\/learning set\u00adtings \u2014 as well as the asso\u00adci\u00adated famil\u00adiar\u00adiza\u00adtion with tech\u00adni\u00adcal sys\u00adtems and copy\u00adright and licens\u00ading issues \u2014 can be chal\u00adleng\u00ading. For this rea\u00adson, sup\u00adport for open media pro\u00adduc\u00adtion by stu\u00addent assis\u00adtants is par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlarly rel\u00ade\u00advant in the uni\u00adver\u00adsity con\u00adtext. <\/p>\n\n

With the sup\u00adport of the Lower Sax\u00adony Min\u00adistry of Sci\u00adence and Cul\u00adture (MWK), the Tech\u00adnis\u00adche Infor\u00adma\u00adtions\u00adbib\u00adlio\u00adthek Han\u00adnover (TIB) is award\u00ading funds for the year 2025 to finance stu\u00addent assis\u00adtants for the devel\u00adop\u00adment of dig\u00adi\u00adtal teach\u00ading and learn\u00ading mate\u00adri\u00adals and their prepa\u00adra\u00adtion in the form of OER. <\/strong>The focus of the fund\u00ading is exclu\u00adsively on sup\u00adport\u00ading media pro\u00adduc\u00adtion for the study areas of math\u00ade\u00admat\u00adics, com\u00adputer sci\u00adence, nat\u00adural sci\u00adences and tech\u00adnol\u00adogy (STEM). <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The aim is to cre\u00adate inno\u00adv\u00ada\u00adtive teach\u00ading and learn\u00ading mate\u00adri\u00adals on basic sci\u00aden\u00adtific and tech\u00adni\u00adcal study top\u00adics. We are look\u00ading for e.g. scripts, work\u00adsheets, sam\u00adple exams, sem\u00adi\u00adnar pre\u00adsen\u00adta\u00adtions or com\u00adplete mod\u00adules, lessons, self-study units, learn\u00ading games or sim\u00adi\u00adlar, which can be eas\u00adily reused and adapted for use in other teach\u00ading-learn\u00ading con\u00adtexts due to their license and tech\u00adni\u00adcal for\u00admat. <\/p>\n\n

The use of open sys\u00adtems and tools that offer the great\u00adest pos\u00adsi\u00adble flex\u00adi\u00adbil\u00adity for the fur\u00adther use of the mate\u00adri\u00adals is par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlarly desired for the tech\u00adni\u00adcal map\u00adping of the learn\u00ading con\u00adtent (tuto\u00adri\u00adals and tem\u00adplates can be found here<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n

Application and award modalities<\/h2>\n\n

Sub\u00adject to approval and autho\u00adriza\u00adtion for allo\u00adca\u00adtion by the MWK, the eTrainer Fund 2025<\/em> of MWK and TIB has funds of around \u20ac50,000 avail\u00adable for uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adties in 2025.<\/p>\n\n

The fund\u00ading is aimed at STEM sub\u00adject areas. <\/strong>The max\u00adi\u00admum indi\u00advid\u00adual vol\u00adume to be applied for is \u20ac10,000. <\/strong>Only per\u00adson\u00adnel costs for stu\u00addent assis\u00adtants are pro\u00advided. The appli\u00adcants are respon\u00adsi\u00adble for select\u00ading the stu\u00addent assis\u00adtants. The assis\u00adtants are to be hired by March 1, 2025; all fund\u00ading must be drawn down by Novem\u00adber 30, 2025.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n

Pro\u00adfes\u00adsors and aca\u00add\u00ade\u00admic staff at uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adties in Lower Sax\u00adony with state respon\u00adsi\u00adbil\u00adity are eli\u00adgi\u00adble to apply.<\/strong> Each appli\u00adcant is per\u00admit\u00adted to sub\u00admit one appli\u00adca\u00adtion. A max\u00adi\u00admum of two appli\u00adca\u00adtions per uni\u00adver\u00adsity will be approved in order to ensure a fair dis\u00adtri\u00adb\u00adu\u00adtion of fund\u00ading. <\/p>\n\n

Appli\u00adca\u00adtions are sub\u00admit\u00adted using the short appli\u00adca\u00adtion<\/strong> form. Inter\u00adested par\u00adties are requested to send the doc\u00adu\u00adment by email to foerderung@twillo.de<\/a>. The dead\u00adline for sub\u00admis\u00adsion is Decem\u00adber 18, 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The selection of eligible applications is based on the following criteria:<\/h2>\n\n

  1. The project envis\u00adages that the funded assis\u00adtants will cre\u00adate dig\u00adi\u00adtal teaching\/learning mate\u00adri\u00adals on spe\u00adcial\u00adist top\u00adics of a STEM degree pro\u00adgram.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Prepa\u00adra\u00adtion of the cre\u00adated mate\u00adri\u00adals as OER is planned: Open licens\u00ading of the con\u00adtent under CC 0<\/a>, CC BY<\/a>, CC BY-SA<\/a> or a com\u00adpa\u00adra\u00adble open source soft\u00adware license as well as repro\u00adduc\u00adtion in an open file for\u00admat is planned.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. All mate\u00adri\u00adals pro\u00adduced as part of the fund\u00ading are to be pub\u00adlished on the OER por\u00adtal twillo<\/a> at the end of the project.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. To pre\u00adpare the funded assis\u00adtants for open media pro\u00adduc\u00adtion as part of the project, par\u00adtic\u00adi\u00adpa\u00adtion in an OER basics work\u00adshop (online) is planned. In addi\u00adtion, the twillo<\/a> online con\u00adsul\u00adta\u00adtion hour is to be used reg\u00adu\u00adlarly for sup\u00adport with prac\u00adti\u00adcal ques\u00adtions and the pre\u00adsen\u00adta\u00adtion and dis\u00adcus\u00adsion of interim results.

    The deci\u00adsion on the allo\u00adca\u00adtion of funds will be made in Jan\u00adu\u00adary 2025 and is the respon\u00adsi\u00adbil\u00adity of a selec\u00adtion com\u00admit\u00adtee con\u00adsist\u00ading of rep\u00adre\u00adsen\u00adta\u00adtives of the twillo<\/a> OER ini\u00adtia\u00adtive. Incom\u00ading appli\u00adca\u00adtions are first for\u00admally reviewed and then assessed accord\u00ading to the above-men\u00adtioned con\u00adtent cri\u00adte\u00adria. Par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlar atten\u00adtion will be paid to the reusabil\u00adity of the OER to be devel\u00adoped. <\/p>\n\n
