Didactic image generation with AI
Event content
Focal points
- You’ll learn about current, recommended AI image generators that are particularly well-suited for use in open teaching and learning contexts.
-
You’ll gain an overview of how the style, format, and level of detail of AI-generated images can be specifically controlled.
-
You’ll gain inspiration on how AI-generated images can be used for instructional design and the creative development of OER.
Target group
Teachers, those responsible for education and those interested in OER and AI - both beginners and advanced users are welcome.
Topic & procedure
Image-generating AI tools open up new possibilities to visually enrich teaching materials and to convey complex content clearly – without any prior artistic knowledge.
In this Tooltime session, you will learn about various recommended AI tools suitable for image generation. You will gain an overview of their functions, learn how to specifically influence the style, format, and details of AI-generated images, and receive concrete, practical tips for their use in teaching – e.g., for cartoons, visualizations, or process diagrams.
The content of Tooltime complements our workshop “AI, OER and law — solving practical cases together”, which focuses on the legal aspects of using artificial intelligence in teaching. Both formats can be attended independently of each other, but in combination they offer a holistic insight into the didactic and legal dimensions of AI and OER. An overview of further workshop dates can be found here.
